Terms of Service

Welcome to The Veteran Gifts. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

About This Site

The Veteran Gifts publishes reviews, comparisons and how-to guides on gifts for veterans and the families who honor them: folded flag display cases, veteran caps, challenge coin displays, engraved drinkware and military history books. Everything here is written by a civilian who shops for the veterans in his own life, so we tell you what got used, what stayed in the box, and who a gift is not right for. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any branch of the military, the VA or any veterans organization.

Care and Mounting Notes

Wall displays are heavier than they look. Hang coin displays and flag cases into a wall stud or a properly rated anchor, check the hardware from time to time, and keep them away from spots where they could be bumped or fall on someone. If you are unsure about your wall, ask a handy friend or a professional.

Insulated tumblers hold heat. Hot drinks can stay hot enough to burn, and a sliding lid is not leakproof, so do not tip one over or hand a full one to someone while driving. Follow each maker's care instructions, including hand washing where a product says so.

Flags, medals and keepsakes can be irreplaceable. Keep them out of direct sun and damp, handle them with clean dry hands, and do not use harsh cleaners on plexiglass. Our notes on displaying a flag are general courtesy, not official guidance; for rules on a specific flag, medal or insignia, check with the family, the service branch or a veterans organization.

Military history can stir hard memories. A book or keepsake that one veteran treasures may be unwelcome to another, so know the person before you give it. Nothing on this site is medical, mental health, legal or benefits advice. A veteran in crisis can reach the Veterans Crisis Line by dialing 988 and pressing 1.
